Privacy statement

Preface

Hoykon values the importance of your privacy. Therefore, to ensure the information Hoykon collects remains confidential, we ensure you that we comply with the General Data Protection Regulation. This privacy statement will explain what Hoykon does with the personal information we receive about you.

Protection of privacy

Hoykon uses the following principles and practices with regards to the collection and processing of personal data and other data that we collect in exchange for the use of our software.

  1. Where necessary, we ask you for permission for data processing. This will be obtained through an active action on your part.
  2. If we ask you for permission, we will do so in comprehensible and plain language;
  3. Hoykon will never use personal data for any other purpose, in any way whatsoever, other than for purpose the data was obtained for;

Data collection

Hoykon collects personal data using various methods. Part of this data will be provided by you and the remainder collected automatically. We collect and process your personal data:

  1. When visiting our websites;
  2. When taking out a subscription;
  3. When creating an account;
  4. By using our software;
  5. By contacting Hoykon;
  6. When registering for a training or event;
  7. By interacting with us on social media.

When visiting our website

When you visit our website, regardless of whether you place and order or not, we will receive personal data via your web browser that is included with the cookies we place. You can choose which cookies you want to allow when visiting our site. These cookies are used to recognize you on return visits, your saved settings, and to help improve and/or adapt our website to your personal preferences. Also read our cookie policy. Subscriptions

Upon entering into contract with Hoykon, your name and contact details are collected and processed to be used by our invoicing and customer service. Data collected:

  • first and last name;
  • e-mail address;
  • postal address;
  • telephone number;
  • other similar contact details;

The aim of this collection is so that we can approach you personally by letter, e-mail, social media and telephone. We collect necessary payment information to process your payment when you make purchases, such as you account number. This information is only necessary if you enter into an agreement with Hoykon and is therefore not collected for any other reason.

Account Creation

We collect credentials such as passwords and similar security information used for authentication for and access to your account. At the moment, we use these for only three types of processes for you. These being able to log into our software, our API-link and the Knowledge Base.

Software Use

When using our software the following data is collected:

  • Demography: We collect information regarding your country and language preferences. This information is made available via your browser’ country and language settings while using our products. This information is to enable the internationalization of our products and services. (to determine how number formatting is applied? ) If this data is not available, the default language will be in Dutch and the Netherlands will be set as the country.
  • Device and data consumption: We collect information about your device and how you interact with your it, operating system, browser, and application.
  • Data usage of products: We collect information about the features you use, the items you purchase and the web pages you visit. We do this to measure the visit and interest in our pages. The goal is to optimize them based on of the results of the statistics.
  • Device, connectivity and configuration data: We collect data about your device and about the network you use to connect to our products. This data also includes information about the operating systems and other software installed on your device, including product codes. In addition, data is collected about your IP address, device IDs (such as the IMEI number for phones), regional settings and language settings. We process this information to ensure that only the lawful users have access to our products and services within the terms of use of our products and services. When you visit our website, this information is used to identify returning visitors and to provide personalized content.
  • Performance data: We collect data about the performance of the products and any problems you experience with them. By contacting Hoykon

If at any moment Hoykon for assistance, we will collect information about you and about your hardware, software and other details relevant to the support incident. This concerns data such as contact or authentication data, contents of the chat sessions and other communication with Hoykon’s customer service. We also collect, information about the status of the device and the application at the time of the error and during the diagnosis, as well as system and register data. about software installations and hardware configurations. This is necessary to come to a solution and is only collected if you agree. We collect communication data such as sender data, subject matter, content and metadata from e-mail correspondence. We collect text or other content from instant messages. We collect audio and video files that are used for support. We collect audio recordings and transcriptions of a voice message that you receive or a text message that you enter. We collect messages that you may have sent to us, such as feedback and product reviews that you have written, or questions and information you have provided in the context of customer support. When you contact us, for example with customer service or our account managers, telephone conversations or chat sessions with our employees may be recorded and monitored. The purpose of this data processing is to develop a customer profile with the goal tailor our services to better align with your skills and communication needs.

Training or event registration

We collect your name and contact details so that we can personally contact you and inform you about the status of your registration. Optionally, we collect data to process the structure of PE points.

By interacting with us on social media

If you write, name, or follow us on social media, we will provide insight into the personal data collected included in the profile on your profile??. We use this information to provide you with product information, offers, and support through that same channel.

Permission

Apart from the use of your data described above, we always ask your explicit permission to use your data for a specific purpose.

Security of your data

We ensure that your data is adequately secured with us. We always adjust the security in accordance with the legal requirements.

The above privacy statement will come into force no later than May 25, 2018 and thus immediately expire any privacy statements published before said date.
